Rachel Cho’s background in flowers began at Sharon’s Flowers, a successful and highly acclaimed neighborhood flower boutique in the Bronx that her mother Sharon started in 1989. Rachel grew up working and helping at the flower shop, where Sharon taught her the skills and artistry in floral design, as well as finding love and appreciation for colors and textures.
After graduating Smith College with a degree in biology, Rachel’s natural affinity towards aesthetics and design lead her to work in fashion and other creative fields. With ambition and a vision to have independent creative and business control she eventually returned to where her creative skills began, her mother’s flower shop. Rachel opened her own branch of the business in 2005 with a focus on weddings and corporate accounts, taking the design to a higher brand of sophistication and elegance. She honed her craft and design sensibility by freelancing with renowned floral designers and immersing herself in the flower world, including the New York Botanical Garden. She quickly built a reputation and portfolio, receiving rave reviews as having exceptional talent, unwavering service, and a generous spirit.
While Sharon continues to be Rachel’s mentor the two have become a power mother-daughter team of experts. Sharon’s flawless technical abilities, hands, and eyes towards the classics to country garden styles along with Rachel’s flawless execution of the ultra modern to sophisticated romantic designs, their versatility and years of experience make them a truly unique pair in the flower industry.
